Cookie and cache settings in Chrome

Menu names checked: October 12, 2026

These steps are for Google Chrome on Windows and macOS. For Chrome on a phone, use the phone browsers page. Clearing data here does not wipe the cache on your other devices. Cookies and cache live on the Chrome profile you have open.

Open the controls

  1. Open the dialog

Click the three dots at the top right and choose Delete browsing data. Or press Ctrl+Shift+Delete. On a Mac, press Command+Shift+Delete.

If that item is missing, go to Settings → Privacy and security → Delete browsing data.

  2. Pick a time range

Choose the last hour, the last 7 days, or all time. The range applies to the rows you leave checked.

  3. Check only the rows you need

For cookies, turn on Cookies and other site data. For the cache, turn on Cached images and files. Leave the other rows off.

  4. Click Delete data

When the dialog closes, the job is done. Reload any tab that was already open.

Clear one site only

  1. With that site open, use the icon in the address bar

Click the lock or the tune icon on the left side of the address bar.

  2. Open cookies and site data

Remove that site's cookies, or continue into site settings and delete only that site.

  3. Or search the full list

Enter chrome://settings/content/all in the address bar, search for the site name, and delete that entry.

Afterward

Reload open tabs. If you cleared cookies, sites that kept a session in a cookie show a sign-in page. If you cleared only cached files, those pages load their files again.
