Questions
Frequently asked questions
Will clearing cookies sign me out?
Sites that kept a session in a cookie show a sign-in page again.
Does clearing the cache delete photos or documents?
No. The cache is a copy of pages and images from the web. Files you saved into Downloads are separate.
Can I clear cookies for one site?
Yes on desktop Chrome, Edge, Whale, Firefox, and Mac Safari. Use the "one site" section on that browser's page. The main iPhone Safari button clears everything, so use Advanced → Website Data for a single site.
How is this different from a private window?
Incognito, InPrivate, and private windows try not to keep cookies and history from that window after you close it. They do not go back and delete data already stored in a normal window. To remove what is already stored, use the delete steps in this guide.
Does this clear my other devices?
Cookies and cache are stored on the device you are using. Clearing them here does not empty the same stores on your phone. History sync is separate.
